How to Improve your Health and Increase Your Lifespan
What is Resveratrol?
Resveratrol is a polyphenol that is found in microscopic amounts in a variety of foods which include cranberry, blueberry, peanut butter, grape skin, white wine, and red wine. Through decades of research on first rodents and then repeated the studies on humans, scientists have discovered some amazing benefits of consuming low doses of resveratrol. In rare situations even high doses of resveratrol can be useful for combating cancer for short periods of time.
Benefits of low dose Resveratrol
2.5-5mg/Kg of body weight per day
Strengthens proteins in cells so they live longer and are harder to destroy
Inhibits LDL Cholesterol
Activates Nitric Oxide (improves blood circulation, sexual function, and lowers blood pressure)
Prevents blood clots from forming in arteries
lowers blood sugar
neuroprotective properties (Protection against huntington’s disease, alzheimers disease, and parkinson’s disease)
Activates longevity genes called Sirtuins
Downsides of low dose Resveratrol
Benefits of high dose Resveratrol
25-50mg/kg of body weight per day
hinders tumor growth
Downsides of high dose Resveratrol
Lowers heart function
lowers repair of DNA and RNA
decreased wound healing
increase in cell death proteins that kill healthy cells
Here’s the Kicker…
The amounts of resveratrol found in berries, peanuts, and wine are far too low and would be impossible to consume enough to get the low dose benefits. To achieve a low does that is appropriate for you would require you to consume close to 170 bottles of wine on a daily basis which just isn’t going to happen. Good news is that there are a few companies out there that have extracted the resveratrol from its known sources and have put it in supplement form at a low dose for humans.
I’ve screened a number of companies out there for how they extract the resveratrol from red grape skin, wine, peanuts, etc. and most of them only get a bioactive form that is around 50%, and then they don’t go the extra mile and spend more money and time to filter out pesticides, mercury, lead, and gluten. There is one company that I have found that has gone the extra mile and were able to extract 98% of the bioactive form of resveratrol. They even sent their product off to a third party company, which all supplement companies should do, and have it tested and certified that what they actually claim is in the supplement is in there, how potent is it, and what other ingredients are in there. That company is called Toniiq.
Start Taking Resveratrol to Improve Your Health and Increase Your Lifespan
Take your current body weight and divide it by 2.2 which converts it into kilograms.
Multiply that number by 2.5, this is the lowest amount of resveratrol you need per day.
Multiply that number by 5, this is the highest amount of resveratrol you need per day.
